Time to Write

Are you finding it difficult to focus on your writing? Join our award winning virtual writing retreat ‘Time to Write’, where you’ll get some great advice and structure, alongside a chance to catch up with some of your fellow postgraduate researchers.

This programme is a light touch version of the popular Thesis Boot Camp, which was designed by Dr Peta Freestone to help PhD students with their writing. We know that it can be difficult to keep on top of your writing, and you may feel like you’re not making progress. We don’t expect intense levels of productivity, but we’re hoping that we can create some positive days where we come together, though we are working separately, in virtual spaces where we can catch up and share advice and tips.

Time to Write days take place over Zoom, and include 3 catch-ups through the day. In the morning we introduce writing tips and strategies, then at lunchtime and at the end of the day we check-in on progress and generally catch-up on how the day is going. Inbetween these times you are encouraged to work independently on your writing.

Time to Write runs weekly throughout term time, so feel free to sign-up to as many days as you like!

If you have not joined us for Time to Write in the past, please work through this Thesis Roadmap before you join. This document will help you to plan your time, and get the most from the writing days.
