This is a two day event: 20-21 September, 10:00-16:00 each day.

This writing retreat is open to PGRs, researchers working on writing for publication, and any colleagues completing their CADENZA application (at any descriptor).

The writing retreat offers an opportunity for attendees to dedicate time to focus on writing alongside their colleagues in a dedicated space with no distractions.

After some initial sharing of writing tips and goal setting (and a brief introduction to the requirements of a CADENZA application, where relevant) attendees will follow a clear time-structured programme with intensive writing time followed by scheduled breaks. Lunch will be provided, along with tea and coffee mid-morning and mid-afternoon. There will also be one dedicated active break each day.

Across both days, the group will offer mutual support and accountability, while members of Organisational Development, the Library’s Research Support team, and specialist CADENZA advisors will be leading the days and are on hand to answer any questions you may have.

**Please note:**

This is not a space to have your work proofread and content delivery is limited to motivation and strategies to keep writing, as opposed to specific taught material on writing.

Participants will need to bring their own laptop or other device to work from on the day.

Lunch will be provided, alongside tea and coffee.

Parking costs are not covered.

Accommodation will not be provided, so participants will need to be able to travel to the Southend campus each day.
