In-person watch party - "Editorial mass resignations: collective action towards open research" In-Person
Recent times have witnessed a number of high-profile mass resignations of journal editorial boards, with editors rejecting the conditions of (in)accessibility and commercial profit underlying their existing publishers.
Join us in the Albert Sloman Library to watch an online session on “Editorial mass resignations: collective action towards open research” hosted by the University of Sheffield, followed by an in-person discussion on the theme of the webinar with Professor Ewen Speed, Professor of Health and Social Care here at Essex, and a previous member of the editorial board of Critical Public Health.
By coming together to watch and discuss this important issue in academic research, postgraduate researchers, academic staff, and students can explore one of the largest challenges currently facing academic publishing.
