On Track: Finding & using statistical data or qualitative primary sources (Online) Online
Overview:
This session focuses on the two types of primary data that are often needed for dissertations: quantitative and qualitative. These sources are not typically available through the websites and databases we use for academic literature searches (such as the library catalogue or Google Scholar). Much is available open access, and we will look at where & how to find both statistical and qualitative sources, as well as discussing some of the considerations around using them in your research.
Examples will be from the social sciences, but the principles apply across all subjects.
