On Track: Finding statistical or qualitative data sources for your dissertation Online
Overview
This workshop focuses on the two types of primary data that are often needed for dissertations: quantitative and qualitative. These sources are not typically available through the websites and databases we use for academic literature searches (such as the library catalogue or Google Scholar). Much is available open access, and we will look at where & how to find both statistical and qualitative sources, using examples primarily from the social sciences. There will be opportunities for participants to practice finding & accessing data and we will also discuss some of the considerations around using data in your research.
Presenters
Sandy Macmillen - Academic Liaison Librarian, University of Essex
