Time to Write - Introduction Session Online
Feeling isolated and struggling to write? Join our popular virtual writing retreat 'Time to Write,' where you’ll get some great advice and structure, alongside a chance to catch up with some of your fellow PhD researchers! Time to Write days include 3 short meetings over Zoom to give structure and accountability to your independent writing day.
***By signing up to this session, you’ll pay a one-off fee for access to a range of writing days in the Summer term where you pick and choose which sessions you will join. This course will also give you access to a Slack channel where advice and tips will be shared. If you joined Time to Write in the Autumn term and/or Spring term please email us directly rather than re-registering, as you do not need to pay again***
This programme is a light touch version of the popular Thesis Boot Camp, which was designed by Dr Peta Freestone to help PhD students with their writing. We know that in these uncertain times it can be difficult to keep on top of your writing, and you may feel like you’re not making progress. This programme has been designed to help you write and as an alternative to the Thesis Boot Camp, but please note that this is NOT a boot camp. We do not expect intense levels of productivity, but we’re hoping that we can create some positive days where we come together, though we are working separately, in virtual spaces where we can catch up and share advice and tips. Have a look at our blog post for more information about previous sessions.
The Time to Write programme will take place over Zoom and Slack, and includes an introductory session (which will be on 27th April), with follow up writing day sessions in the Summer term:
- Wednesday 5th May – Writing Day
- Thursday 13th May – Writing Day
- Friday 21st May – Writing Day
- Thursday 27th May – Writing Day
- Wednesday 2nd June – Writing Day
- Tuesday 8th June – Writing Day
- Monday 14th June – Writing Day
- Tuesday 22nd June – Writing Day
- Wednesday 30th June – Writing Day
A full overview of the structure of the upcoming sessions will be made available to you once you book a place, so sign up now! You can join as many or as few Writing Days as you’d like, but we recommend joining at least three sessions (including the introduction). Once you sign up, we will send you a quick form to fill out to indicate sessions you want to join.
